Celebrating 10 years in the dive industry, Brian, Jules and Chris George reminisce with fond memories the people from all walks of life that have enjoyed this unique marine environment with us and all the awesome friends we have made just doing it! We started in a run down shack on the side of the road in Leigh that had 'potential & location' hiring snorkel gear and dive fills. Today Goat Island Dive & Snorkel/Outer Gulf Charters has grown and expanded. As a PADI Gold Palm Resort we have introduced thousands to diving and snorkeling. Local charters started with a 4m Mac into Goat Island, expanded into an 5.5m yellow cat cramming on 8 divers. Brian, ever the visionary saw the potential of diving the Outer Gulf Islands, so purchased our first bigger boat, 7m Te Tohora (nicknamed Te ToHorrors for its bone jarring ride), we remember them as the Good 'ol Days with lots of laughs. Thus Outer Gulf Charters was born venturing out to Great/Little Barrier, Hen & Chicks and the wonderful Mokohinaus, eventually replacing Te Tohora with 12m boats Divemaster then Apollo.
We thank all our gear suppliers for their support over the years, much thanks to awesome staff who managed to work within a family run business with a smile, and to loyal customers alias great friends who stuck with us through thick and thin. Good times, good memories, roll on the next 10 years!
