Introducing the Goat Island Dive & Snorkel team to you....

Brian George
- Skipper/PADI Divemaster/Goat Island Dive & Snorkel Director

Brian and his wife Julie founded Goat Island Dive & Snorkel  in 2000 and it has grown! Brian's smiling face can most often be seen Skippering on our charter boat Apollo (Outer Gulf Charters). He is the most happiest when he is on the boat (so we keep him out of the shop), he knows the Outer Hauraki Gulf Islands like the back of his hand. Brian will always give his time when required to new, and not so new divers who might need some tips, passing on his own experience and skills he has learnt over the many years of diving, (his favourite briefing ...breathe first, dive after). So many divers can lay claim to a relaxing and enjoyable dive after taking in a word of advice from the Skipper. Brian is qualified as a Local Launch Operator, PADI Divemaster but mostly 'ol dog of the sea.

Julie (Jules) George - General Manager/Director

Julie pioneered Goat Island Dive & Snorkel with her husband Brian in 2000. She is the key that holds the business together and mother to all and sundry. Jules role is 'behind the scenes' ticking all the boxes, making sure the bills are paid and writing our regular chatty newsletter.
"I think we are privileged to work, live and play in Paradise so the biggest kick I get out of Goat Island Dive & Snorkel is seeing people enjoy a supa duppa day with us. I love to deliver a quality, relaxed KIWIANA service with a smile, always"!

Julie George

Erwin Filius - PADI INSTRUCTOR

Erwin grew up in Christchurch and learnt to dive in New Zealand’s rich southern waters. After having spent an intensive dive filled decade abroad and diving the waters of 11 different nations, he decided to come home and get stuck right back into New Zealand diving and the New Zealand dive industry.
Ask him for some dive tales. He has many.

Nora Lohmann - PADI INSTRUCTOR

Nora is our European import. Originally from Hamburg, Germany, Nora got a taste of New Zealand and the kiwi lifestyle back in 2003 when she visited on her first major overseas trip, spending half a year exploring this wonderful country.
She is now back, having spent the time in between working in the dive industry in Central America and South East Asia.
Nora is a passionate diver and Instructor and is thoroughly enjoying her continued exploration of New Zealand and its wonderful diving.
Mark Dixon- PADI DIVEMASTER

Divemaster extraordinair. Mark is seriously 'one of the team', he just keeps on coming back each season to dive with us. He hasn't given up his day job but is always on call to DM for Outer Gulf Charters when needed. Mark provides a quite steady influence for our new divers, building their confidence level and keeping a watchful eye over them them downunder. (pictured at Great Barrier Island)

Ali  Wilson - Hire/Retail Area Extroidernaire

Ali is back this season, and straight into organising our gear hire and retail store.    Already an accomplished and confident diver, Ali loves the sea and marine life in and around Leigh so it is natural that she is wanting to gain further experience by completing her Advanced Open Water certificate this summer.   Great way to spend summer holidays working in and around your passion.
Scoobie Doo - Customer Services Scoobie - world famous in Leigh. He's a Soft Coated Irish Wheaten Terrier'. Scoobie is Goat Island Dive & Snorkel shop dog and is most often seen meeting and greeting our clients. If he rolls over he wants a belly rub and is famous for having his photo taken sitting with his bum on the front steps with customers from all over the world!   He thinks he is half human and knows how to 'charm' our guests.
