The PADI Advanced Open Water course is designed with excitement in mind. Whether you are new to diving or have logged 100s of dives this course will refine your skills and build on your knowledge of the underwater world.

Course Schedule The Advanced Diver course is run over a 2 day weekend. Diving the Goat Island Marine Reserve and Mokohinau's. Our Advanced course is focused around your individual needs as a diver, to improve your skills whatever your level of experience. We work as a team to complete challenging objectives using different underwater scenarios. The dives chosen improve your diving standard. Day 1 consists of two dives, Peak Performance Buoyancy and Underwater Navigation. PPB refines your buoyancy control and corrects bad underwater breathing habits. Navigation is consistently a favourite for our students. Step by step we build on your navigation skills to the final practice of navigating a giant underwater square. Day 2 we venture out to the Mokohinau Islands onboard the dive boat Apollo. We start the day with a deep dive, planning and executing a dive to 30+ metres. The next dive is UW Naturalist. This dive educates the diver on New Zealand marine life while refining buoyancy and breathing techniques. We also approach the naturalist dive as a multi-level dive. The last dive involves teamwork, thorough planning and a whole lotta fun. Your Instructor first hides a heavy object on the bottom. It's then up to the group to Search and Recover it. You will learn skills such as knot tying, underwater search patterns and use special recovery equipment such as lifting devices. The Advanced course will qualify you to reach deeper and more interesting sites with the skills necessary to be confident. Student Prerequisites Your PADI Open Water Certification or equivalent Minimum age of 15 years All students must sit a basic dive medical within the last 12 months. Print medical form from our website and see your local physician. Ask our staff for local physicians if you are from out of town Willing to set time aside for Self-study preparation Included in the course PADI Advanced Crew Pack materials with certification card.
