The Mokohinau Islands offers large pinnacles with deep drop offs and exciting wall dives in places, but also offer sheltered easy lagoon-like areas for the novice diver.
Divers can enjoy a depth of 6 – 30 metres - and sometimes past 30 metres on a good day. Diving in the Mokihinaus are often compared to Poor Knights Marine Reserve, for its abundant marine life and excellent visibility - it's an underwater photographers dream. Mokohinau Islands holds some of New Zealands most beautiful and diverse dive sites, we are now proud to say that we are limiting it to a no take zone aboard our Dive boat, Apollo. Outer Gulf Charter Mokihinau dive trips include 2 dives, a sausage sizzle, coffee, tea, hot chocolate & hot soups, hot shower, and a DIVER LIFT. We usually arrive back at Leigh Harbour by 4-5pm - depending on weather conditions. The travel time to the Mokihinau Islands is approximately 1 hr, 10min to 1hr, 40mins.
