Make your Goat Island Marine Reserve visit easy with quality snorkel gear hire from our local dive centre. Hire everything you need for your own snorkelling adventure, or join one of our guided scuba experiences with quality dive equipment provided. Certified divers can also hire tanks and weights.

We stock a wide range of snorkel gear for adults and children, with sizes available from around 4 years old. Our team will help you choose the right fit so you can feel warmer, safer and more comfortable in the water.
Whether you need a full snorkel set, a wetsuit for extra warmth, or just a mask and fins, we’ll help get you sorted before you head to Goat Island Marine Reserve.
For scuba divers, full dive equipment is available as part of our booked scuba diving activities. Certified divers heading out independently can hire tanks and weights from our dive centre.
Cleaned, Checked & Ready for the Water
We take gear care seriously. Masks, snorkels, fins, boots and regulators are cleaned, sanitised, checked and maintained after use. Wetsuits and BCDs are rinsed and shampooed when returned, so your gear is ready for the next ocean adventure.
Our dive cylinders are filled with clean, tested breathing air, with air purity certification carried out by Air Purity New Zealand.
Before You Head Out (Terms & Conditions)
To help you have the best experience at Goat Island, we strongly recommend wearing a wetsuit for warmth and buoyancy, and fins for propulsion and safety.
Please remember that Goat Island is a protected marine reserve. Follow all marine reserve rules, respect the wildlife, and leave only bubbles.
Hire reminders:
All gear must be returned by 5pm unless after-hours return has been arranged. After-hours drop-off is not available for scuba equipment. Hirers are responsible for lost or damaged equipment, and unused hire gear is non-refundable.
